With a hazy, golden orange hue, the UFO White from Harpoon Brewery pours with large, foamy white head, leaving minor lacing after fully dissipating.

You can see and hear the beer fizzing wildly with the strong carbonation. It gives off the typical aroma of a wheat beer with citrus and coriander, with the addition of a few other tropical fruits I could not place.

I was able to easily pick out the orange and the lemon in the beer – unlike other Belgian White beers, UFO White doesn’t rely heavily on orange alone for the citrus.

Sour and thirstquenching, you can taste the citrus flavors along with a strong wheat backbone and just the right amount coriander spice following up.

Next time I’ll have to add an orange slice as recommended.

It is a deceptively complex flavor, but remains unassuming, thirst-quenching and mild. It feels chewy but very spritzy as you drink, ending with a clean, dry finish, leaving just a shade of orange essence long after.

A floral take on the traditional Belgian White style, this is an incredibly easy to drink beer, perfect for social lubrication at your next summer get-together.

Given a choice between the UFO White and a Blue Moon, I’ll grab the UFO.
