Tree House Brewing Company opened in 2011 in a small red barn in Monson, MA. In 2017 they moved a half hour away to their current location in Charlton, MA.

This move into a 45,000 square foot building on 70 acres increased max capacity from 300 barrels per week, to up to 240 barrels a DAY. Hooray beer!

Tree House is a draft-only, retail-only brewery so you gotta take the hike or trade to acquire some. Its not uncommon to wait in long lines for over an hour, but worth the wait and the building is amazing to see.

Green is their American IPA, which got its name because the wort looked green from all the floating hop particulates.

American IPAs typically have more flavor than English IPAs. A pale golden to reddish amber color, quite hoppy with an average body balanced by a decent malt backbone.

Tree House describes this beer as a tropical heavy IPA, with notes of lemon lime, pineapple, orange sorbet and tangerine. Its intensely kettle and dry hopped. I was really excited to review this beer.

I had tried it about 2 years ago and like a kid waiting for Christmas I couldn’t wait to crack this can open to smell and taste all of its goodness.

This particular can was just about 3 weeks old, very fresh, and it was evident when pouring it as the tropical hop aroma hit my nose. I’m skipping over the color because, well, i couldn’t help but smell this beer going into the glass.

I calmed down, wiped the drool from my mouth and saw a hazy beer that resembled a pineapple/orange juice.

I went in to smell, and it was like getting oranges injected into my nostrils. The build-up was overwhelming me at this point, I just had to taste it. The beer felt so amazing in my mouth, velvety, full, i almost forget to swallow.

Green was so hop heavy, almost crossing the line of what i like, but after another sip, and another, it kept getting better. So hoppy but still well-balanced. This is just an amazing beer. Go to Tree House, trade for it, you must try this beer!
