Another find via the Tavour app, Therapist by Dust Bowl Brewing Company definitely stood out to me, with the name and the label design. It seemed like the perfect beer to have around for the Superbowl.

Being an Eagles fan, I come into games like this with the understanding that things may not go so well.

I headed over to my friend’s apartment, with an assortment of beers in hand. It was hard to resist the urge to pop this one open.

A rich and perfectly clear amber colored beer, a beauty to behold with a small amount of creamy and thick white head that leaves behind surprisingly generous lacing.

On the nose is citrus with hints of honey, pineapple and melon alongside piney, grassy, and hoppy notes. Already I’m excited to taste. As I do, I’m hit with a blast of West-Coast DIPA flavors.

Bready honey malts, tropical fruits, pine resin. Hits with the bitter first but follows up with a tropical sweetness, and oh, so juicy.

Drinks smoothly, with a lighter medium body and moderate carbonation. Overall a spectacular DIPA that should be on everyone’s radar. Can give heavy-hitters like Pliny the Elder or Heady Topper some strong competition in the DIPA must-have marketplace.

This is a big, high ABV beer, so be sure to drink with caution – the alcohol isn’t overly obvious when drinking, but it definitely catches up to you.
