Storm Stayed Brewing Co is one of the newest breweries in a hot brewery scene in London Ontario. It is easy to blend in in such a busy city for breweries but Storm Stayed continuously comes out on top.
Confluence is a very limited batch Sour India Pale Ale which advertises notes of peaches, apricots, Lactose, and vanilla. IPA’s and sours are my favourite beers so I knew I had to get my hands on a can.
The beer pours a beautiful thick orange, looking very similar to a glass of orange juice. The head was pure white, but very small and vanished immediately. The beer has a very strong smell of peaches and vanilla, which is very authentic and refreshing.
Tasting the beer the peaches come through the strongest, followed by the vanilla, and they blend absolutely beautifully. The beer is very sour, and has a nice amount of hops without being too overpowering. As usual with beers that have apricots I find the flavour is very minimal and gets lots behind the peaches and vanilla but does add a nice balancing flavour.
This is by far one of the best beers I have had in a while and I would highly recommend you get your hands on it.
